Electrical Fire Prompts Evacuation In West Chester Borough

Chester County Department of Emergency Services has released a statement following an electrical fire that broke out in the 200 block of West Street in the borough today. “If you live within the 100 & 200 blocks of West Gay Street and Market Streets West Chester Fire Department is asking that you evacuate the area until further notice. West Chester Fire Department will be going door to door to check for carbon monoxide levels within the buildings. As a precaution, the fire department has requested to evacuate the area. At this time no shelter has been established.”
