Released to the public on July 12, 2017, The Kennett Twp., Police department reported the following: “On 6/29/17 at 10:22pm officers responded to the 100 block of New Granite Way for a suspicious situation where a car was seen pulling in and stopping in the back of the Granite Ridge complex. Two males were seen pulling a third male from the car and dragging him over to a grassy area. The two males were then seen returning to the male they pulled out of the car and wrapping him in a towel.

Officers from Kennett Township Police Department were assisted by the Kennett Square Borough Police Department. Officers found an unconscious, intoxicated 15-year-old male that was left in Granite Ridge, unable to care for himself. Officers gave first aid and summoned EMS for the unconscious male while other officers searched the area for the vehicle.

A short time later a vehicle matching the description given by the witness was located nearby and stopped on East Baltimore Pk. Thomas Worth, an 18-year-old male of Brinton’s Bridge Rd, West Chester, was the driver of the vehicle and he had a 16-year-old male passenger.

Worth was arrested for suspicion of DUI and is facing other traffic charges. The juvenile passenger was cited for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct for his role in dumping the person at Granite Ridge. The juvenile that was left behind in Granite Ridge was cited for Public Drunkenness and Underage Drinking. The investigation is ongoing.”
