Electric scooter stolen; Suspect found to be in possession of methamphetamine

On July 5, 2017 at 1232 hrs NHPD was called to Franklin Street Garage at 129 W Main St in NH BORO for a theft that just occurred.  NHPD was advised an electric scooter was taken from a scrap dumpster by a male living next door.  NHPD located Herbert C Gilmore, age 39 of New Holland at 145 W Franklin St Apt 1, Gilmore had been observed on security cameras removing the scooter.

Gilmore was found to be in possession of syringes, and small baggies containing methamphetamine.

Gilmore was charged with the following: Receiving Stolen Property// Knowingly or intentionally possessing a controlled substance by a person not registered under this act and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Gilmore was also found to have a retail theft warrant out of MDJ Tony Russell’s office in Ephrata.

Gilmore was arraigned by MDJ Russell who committed him to LCP in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

Gilmore is presumed innocent.
