On February 19, 2017, at approximately 1:05 am, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Poplar Street for a reported burglary in progress.   The first responding officers arrived within minutes and secured the outside of the residence.   One of the officers looked inside through a window and observed a male subject lying on the floor inside the front room, on the first floor.   The male was bleeding and did not respond when the officer tried to get his attention.   Other officers, who were at the back of the residence located a subject on the roof, who indicated that he had called 911 and fled the house after hearing someone inside.   The officers forced entry into the home and discovered that the victim in the front room was deceased.   The officers located a second male victim on the second floor, who was also bleeding and unresponsive.   They determined that this second victim was also deceased.    Both victims are adult males and had what appeared to be traumatic injuries.   Upon checking the rest of the residence, the officers located two additional males inside the home.   The males were detained and brought to the Lancaster City Police station for further investigation.

The scene was secured as a crime scene and investigators are currently processing the scene for evidence.    Investigators are also conducting interviews and canvassing the neighborhood.    This incident is being investigated as an apparent homicide.   The identities and address of the victims are not being released at this time, while investigators attempt to locate and notify next of kin.   The investigation is active and ongoing.
