FLEEING OR ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE OFFICER; DUI

10:29 pm, 2/15/17, ELTPD Officer Ryan Heistand came upon a vehicle in the 100 BLk of W. Main St, Leola, that had just struck a curb and traffic sign causing substantial damage to the vehicle.     The vehicle sped away from the scene and the driver failed to yield to the pursuing police vehicle.   The vehicle traveled at high speed eastbound on W. Main St, then turned north into a housing development.     The vehicle stopped at a residence on Rose Ave where the driver exited the vehicle and was apprehended.    The driver was identified as Kyle Landon BOEHLER, age 25, of Leola.     BOEHLER was determined to be highly under the influence of alcohol.   BOEHLER was charged with Fleeing or Attempting Elude Police Officer (F-3), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (M-2) and committed to Lancaster Co. Prison.
