King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that weekday lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) between Route 372 (Lower Valley Road) and Farm Lane in Atglen Borough, Chester County, on Tuesday, June 21, through Friday, June 24, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for shoulder reconstruction. Traffic will be controlled by flagging.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. The construction schedule is contingent on the weather.
The shoulder reconstruction work is part of an $850,000 project to repair the bridge carrying Route 41 over the Amtrak tracks in Atglen Borough. Construction on the bridge will begin later this summer and is expected to be completed in late October. Two travel lanes will be maintained on the bridge during construction.
J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
